A. No, because electrical codes vary from place to place no electrical work is included in any installation. Please contact a local electrical contractor.
Q. How do I know what Two-Post lift is right for my application?
A. Eagle Equipment offers three basic types of two post lifts. They are clear floor, asymmetrical and standard models.
- All of our clear floor models have the equalizer cables and hydraulic lines secured overhead, leaving no underneath obstructions. This makes moving equipment such as tool boxes and the like underneath the lift easy.
- Our asymmetrical clear floor models offer all the advantages of a clear floor lift. In addition, the vehicle can be positioned so that the doors can be opened without touching the post.
- Our standard models are an ideal design for low ceiling installation. Post height is only nine feet.
- Measure the length, width and height of your garage to get a better understanding of what dimensions best fit your needs.
Q. What type of paint process does Eagle Equipment use for its premium two and four post lifts?
A. Eagle Equipment powder coats its two and four post-premium lifts. Eagle Equipment uses an automatic finishing process, applied by state-of-the-art INSA Electro-static powder application equipment, to provide a finish that is beautiful and durable, as well as corrosion and scratch resistant. This environmentally safe process involves a degreasing, anti-corrosive chemical bath, and ionized powder application, and high temperature oven treatment.
Q. How close can the baseplate of a two or four post lift be to the end of the cement pad?
A. Eagle Equipment recommends a minimum of six inches from the outside edge of the baseplate to the end of the cement pad.
Q. How thick should the cement pad be for a two or four post lift?
A. Eagle Equipment recommends the pad be a minimum of four inches thick with 3500 PSI reinforced cement for lifts up to 10,000 pound capacity and six inches for lifts over 10,000 pound capacity.
Q. Can we install an Eagle lift on our radiant heat floor?
A. When there is a radiant heat floor, the issue becomes finding where the pipes are; so they are not damaged when drilling holes to anchor the lift. A common way to locate the pipes, is to turn up the heat in the floor. After the heat has been turned up, lightly wet the floor with water. As the water dries, it will dry more quickly in the areas where the pipes lie. As the silhouette of the pipes start to show, outline them with chalk or a marking pencil. This will give you the lay-out of the pipes in the floor, so you can position the columns of the lift and avoid the pipes, so that you will not drill through the radiant heat piping.
Q. Can I pre-set my anchor bolts in the concrete when I pour my floor?
A. No. We are often asked if we have a layout or template for the bolt pattern of the lift, so that anchors can be pre-set in an un-poured concrete floor. This is impractical. The biggest reason being that the burn parts for the lift (the base-plate being one of them) are outsourced to several vendors. Bolt holes and bolt patterns are not always the same. Because of this very slight inconsistency, the bolt pattern you may be given today, might not be the bolt pattern you receive with your lift. The best method for anchoring your lift is to use the lift you receive as its own template. The easiest method is to erect the lift, drill the holes in your concrete, and secure the lift with the approved anchor bolts included with it. We have been using these anchor bolts for years without a failure. The real key is having the proper strength and thickness of concrete.
